It sounds like the computer has integrated graphix. If so, than it probably will not work. You will probably need a dedicated graphics card to run the game well.

1. I would not put vista on that as the graphics card only supports dx9 and that processor is gonna choke on vista.

2. If you list a price range on what your looking to spend I know for a FACT you will have a ton of suggestions from this forum.

3.Can you assemble a computer from parts or do you need a prebuilt?

i have an integrated graphics card on a low end 3 yeard old computer with only 512mb of ram and it runs fine, a little laggy but fine. with the 1024mb on the G card and the 2gb ram you should run pretty well for GW. if you are looking to broaden your horizons and play newer FPS's then you might want to plan on a little bit more RAM and a way better G card

I wouldn't touch iBUYPOWER with a ten foot pole. I've had friends and clients complaining about them too often.
If you are going to have someone build a computer for you the show him/her this link http://techreport.com/articles.x/14610 and tell him/her to make the one called the econobox which is 550$ in april prices. That rig will easily handle Guildwars and then some. You can even go with a cheaper 8600GT 512MB if Guildwars is all you are interested in.

Of course you can build it yourself for cheaper.

The cpu is a little weak by today's standards and you'd definitely want something better than chipset (on-board) graphics. On the other hand, don't go crazy on the graphics with only a 420 watt power supply. Maybe something based on an nVidia 8600 or ATI equivalent.

that pc will definatelly run gw...

its at least 4x or 5x better than my pc
and my gw runs jus fine
(on the lowest settings of course)

gw, doesnt have very demanding sys reqs

buut...do u plan to play any other games?
if its for gw only (and perhaps some older games too)
then that system is more than enough

dun expect it to be able to run gw2 tho

Cyberpower makes AWESOME gaming rigs, if thats what you need

however, the cost is high but you get one heck of a gaming rig

check newegg.com for gaming rigs as well

its good for interneting and word and stuff but if you want to play games with a decent ress or high graphics you're better of spending more on the computer.

Seeing as how, from what i've read, that model has no agp or pci-e x16 slot you have pretty much no upgrade options worth your money on that machine. If you want to play games that dell you have now isn't for that.

Yeah, it's pretty much a dead end for upgrading.

OP: Since you mentioned earlier that you could find someone to build something with a budget of $400-600, that's probably the best way to go. If you really want to save money, you can re-use the drives from your current computer. You can also re-use the CPU to save even more money, if you're willing to deal with a slow CPU with your other fast parts.
